Mark:
Thanks for doing this!
The sudden addition of computer 'takeovers' by ads on the previous board site had risen to the point of making your website a not very desirable visit.
I hope all the regulars will soon find their way here and am looking forward to lots more Mark Kw's Inside Tools.
Sincere Best Wishes from N. CA,
Jerry

Count me in too. My first real bulletin board experience was nearly ten years ago when I ran into Mark, Noel, Tech4 and a few others at a tool board hosted by a site that sold tools. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of that company but it is no longer around I think. Anyway, Mark carried on and thank goodness he did. The guys at Inside Tools have helped me numerous times. It is my default go to for repair information. Thanks again for setting this up Mark.

Hey, thanks for coming! I've been putting in long hours in the shop and haven't had time to do much of anything on-line except work. I'd been wanting to move to this forum for a while and when I got the full-page pop-ups yesterday, that just pushed me over the edge so I made a point of finishing the set-up this morning.
The old forum was Tool Talk back in 1997 and I think the company was OnLine Tools, lady named Sheri was the moderator, she followed the board as we moved around but I haven't heard from her in a long time. Inside Tools was born in 1998 so all us old farts have been typing at each other for 12 years! When I started Inside Tools, the fellow from the CA tool company was courting me to bring the forum to his site because the site was getting over 100,000 hits/day in the winter months. Well, the courtship didn't work out, he's the one who screwed me up on getting my Garage & Workshop book into print, mostly my fault because the line the screwed me was in the contract and I just didn't read it right. Oh well, I got out for a weekend to whack some golf balls around in Palm Springs even though I'd never played golf before in my life. People take that game way too seriously!

If I recall correctly, Toolsource was the name of the online tool company that hosted the old forum. Toolsource is still in business and once in a blue moon I've ordered something from them but, of course, their tool forum is long gone. They have this new blog thing now that I don't know anything about.
FWIW, the Toolwarehouse is my main online source of tools although I've been known to buy Snap-on, Matco and even Mac tools online occasionally.

Alan,
Great to see you here! Hope all is well with you and yours!
You're very much correct, it was in fact Toolsource.

Tech, good to see you over here too old hoss. I don't know what I would do without you and the other guys for electrical tech stuff. I have enough on the job experience and college hours to sit for a master's license but I still rely on you lads for a lot things. Definitely glad to see you here.
